Accomplishements
- Shared Services Network of Indian River County has joined with the Roundtables of Okeechobee, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties in establishing a four county Shared Services Alliance of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast. This forum will address mental health issues in District 15, as well as initiating a system of Community Based-Care.
- Shared Services Network has taken a lead roll in the Victim Rights Coalition of Indian River Co. including numerous community events during the month of April.
- Shared Services is active with the Domestic Violence Coalition of Indian River Co. by co-sponsoring the Family Fun Day in October for the purpose of furthering awareness of domestic violence and the services available in our county.
- An Agency Showcase was offered to the teachers, administrators and community to heighten awareness of services to families and children. Approximately 300 people attended this event.
- Agencies and departments are highlighted at Implementation Committee meetings allowing members to become familiar with services and the potential for future collaboration.
- Often meetings are held at member agencies allowing better collaboration and general familiarity.
- Software programs dealing with the technological sharing of information for services within the county have been reviewed throughout the past two years.
- Letters of Support for various grants have come from the Shared Services Network such as a 21st Century Grant for the development of a South County After School Program, and the Elementary School Counseling Grant.
- Grant opportunities and related information is shared at each meeting with the assistance of the SSN State Technical Assistance Office, in connection with the University of South Florida.
- Support to members is offered in the areas of grant writing, technology and promotion of services and events.
- Ongoing information is shared to all members regarding new initiatives on Community Based Care.
