History:
The SSN of Indian River County began in 1997-98 with a Department of Education Grant devised to allow communities to put a system in place that would foster better communication and collaboration for families, schools and their community. Realizing that children are more successful when their needs are met, both within the family unit as well as in the community, there was obvious benefit in having all parties working on the same goals and with the same information.

The Office of Student Services of Indian River County Schools applied and received this grant, as well as the maximum of three annual grant renewals, over the next three school years. We are currently in the stages of seeking funding for continuation of this project.
