Shared Services Network
Process Outcomes
  • The annual "Shared Services Network Days" were developed and have been held each year with the following outcomes:
    • The event was held at Florida Gulf Coast University and tours of the facility and general information about university programs were available.
    • The event was held on a teacher workday and all student services personnel were invited from school to attend the event.
    • More than 35 agencies set up booths with information about services they provide.
    • More than 100 school counselors and other student services personnel participated in a "services scavenger hunt" in which they were given a scenario and utilized the service providers present to find solutions to meet individual student needs.
    • Through workshops held throughout the day, the community and school personnel were educated about Shared Services Network.
    • Evaluation from school personnel strongly indicated that they learned new ways to assist their students meet needs and improve individual student outcomes. They also learned about the Comprehensive Strategy, the Key Leader Board, and the Steering Committee.
  • Understanding and communication among agency personnel has increased through:
    • Review of each agency's mission, vision, and scope of services
    • Regular meetings with agenda open to all members thus reducing the need for many other meetings. Health Department issues, Department of Children and Family issues, and School District issues may all be on the Shared Services Network agenda rather than having each agency call separate meetings with virtually the same people in attendance.
  • The Steering Committee has now started updating Comprehensive Strategy data and is looking at implementations to close gaps.
