Process Outcomes
- All participating agencies’ mission statements have been compiled and shared with the group.
- A matrix of the boards and councils on which committee members participate was developed.
- Information was gathered from committee members regarding their responsibilities through their agencies.
- The group determined that decisions should be made through consensus rather than a vote. They also agreed that each member would commit to attending each meeting in person and not send designees.
- Because of Orlo Vista Elementary’s history of poor attendance, it was determined that school attendance would be the focus of the Steering Committee.
- The Steering Committee has adopted a mission statement.
- The mission of the Shared Services Network of Orlo Vista Elementary is to ensure that the targeted children and their families achieve their full potential by providing comprehensive, integrated services through a coordinated leadership, planning and collaboration involving all segments of the community.
- A process of selecting students for the Successful Outcomes for Students (SOS) project has been developed in order to focus on their school attendance.
- Students and parents have been interviewed as potential SOS participants, and 11 students are now participating in the process.
- The School Success Team has been developed which includes the following:
- Principal
- Assistant Principal
- Family Specialist
- Social Worker
- Psychologist
