Accomplishments
- A Juvenile Assessment Center has been established.
- There has been a revision of school, juvenile justice, law enforcement, and judicial policies regarding the sharing of confidential information for youth at-risk.
- An on-going, multi-agency training regarding the sharing of confidential information on at-risk youth has been established using a multi-agency approved training module as a guide.
- The project has developed a comprehensive, multi-year plan to reduce juvenile crime and delinquency through risk-focused prevention and protective factor enhancement. The plan is based on the analysis of local indicator data on nineteen research-based risk factors.
- The Department of Juvenile Justice provided funds to hire a staff person to serve as a data analyst to maintain and further develop the indicator database.
- There has been a commitment from multiple agencies to provide $70,000 to fund a "Best Practices Conference" to learn best practice programs and approaches, which address the priority risk factors.
- Additional resources have been obtained through grants developed directly through the Executive Round Table that target the priority risk factors.
- School district and law enforcement policies have been revised, now allowing programs such as Crime Watch to be implemented in the schools.
