PAST EVENTS—The following is an archive of past events that were featured in our "upcoming events" secton.
- June 9-10, 2005. The Summer 2005 Shared Services Network workdays will be held in Tampa at the Embassy Suites Hotel, USF/Busch Gardens on June 9 and 10.
Since we plan on starting at 1 PM on Thursday and ending by noon on Friday, we've blocked off rooms only for Thursday night, 6/9. This way you only need to spend one night away from home.
To make reservations, call the hotel directly at 813-977-7066 and ask for “reservations.” Request the USF/Shared Services Network group rate of $99 single/double occupancy. The cut off date for receiving this special price is 5/10, so please make your reservations before then. Directions to the hotel are available on their website.

- June 3-4, 2004. The Summer 2004 Shared Services Network workdays will be held in Tallahassee at the Comfort Suites Hotel. Directions to the hotel are available on their website http://www.comfortsuites.com/hotel/fl161.
Since we plan on starting first thing that Thursday morning, we've blocked off rooms for June 2 & 3. Remember, we plan on breaking by lunchtime on Friday so that we all can be home at a reasonable hour.
To make reservations, call 850-224-3200, ask for “reservations,” and request the USF group rate of $94 single/double occupancy. The cut off date for receiving this special price is 5/19, so please make your reservations before then.

- September 22-23, 2003 SSN Workdays.
Because we have several new districts (and a few established districts with new facilitators), the team has decided to spend the September workdays working with our newest facilitators only. Facilitators from the following counties should plan to attend:
* Collier
* Gilchrist
* Hernando
* Lake
* Wakulla
If any facilitators from established districts not listed would like to attend, please communicate with your district contact. Otherwise, we will all meet together at the January workdays.
We will meet together at the University of South Florida, College of Education beginning at 1:30 pm on the 22nd and will end by 3:30 on the 23rd. This should give you ample time to drive in on the 22nd and get home at a reasonable hour on the 23rd. More information will be provided soon concerning hotel recommendations.

As you can see by the agenda, you need to be prepared to present a multimedia presentation on the status of your Shared Services Network project. You can use handouts, PowerPoint, posters, overheads, etc. You’ll have a maximum of 15 minutes. We (the other SSN Facilitators, district contacts, and the SSN TA Team) will be providing feedback, so please come prepared.

September 18–19, 2001 CANCELLED [explanation]—SSN Workdays. The fall Shared Services Network statewide workdays will be held September 18 and 19 at the Best Western Oceanfront on Cocoa Beach. For reservations, call 800-962-0028 and specify that you're with Shared Services Network so that you can get the discount rate. ($69.00 per non-oceanfront, $79.00 per oceanfront) The deadline for this rate is September 1. Reservations must be cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid first night charges. At the workdays, Rita Elkins (Brevard County) will provide a training on Public Relations. In preparation for her presentation, Rita requested the following:
“I would like each facilitator to present briefly (3 minutes) on either their most successful or their most disastrous PR effort. Ideally, this would include actual sample(s) such as brochures, specialty items, video footage, audio tape, tear sheets, whatever. Don't be afraid to share worst-case scenarios - sometimes we learn more from them than good ones. Plus, sharing with an empathetic audience can be healing!”

- February 7-8, 2001 - SSN Workdays. The workdays will be Feb. 7 and 8 in Orlando at the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport. We were at this site earlier this year in May. Sleeping room reservations must be made no later than January 12th by calling 1-800-HILTONS and requesting the University of South Florida conference rate of $95.00. The meeting will begin at 1:00 P.M. on the 3rd and end at 12:00 P.M. on the 5th. This change in format for the meeting times is due to the feedback from facilitators at the last workday.
