Welcome to an introduction to Shared Services Network: A Networking Initiative for System Change.
The Shared Services Network concept was initiated by the Florida Department of Education (DOE) to develop a network of "shared services." By continuing to provide technical assistance to interested districts, the DOE supports and encourages opportunities for service collaboration and integration. Today’s magnitude of need has sown the seeds for community networks, creating and reinforcing a willingness to work together among education, health, and social service organizations. Through federal and state initiatives, government agencies are beginning to use their resources in new ways, crossing traditional system boundaries in order to meet community needs. A positive result of this collaborative spirit is more cost efficiency, while at the same time a strong foundation for "networking" activities is cultivated.
